FIVP to represent independent practice at London Vet Show 2025

The Federation of Independent Veterinary Practices (FIVP) is pleased to announce that it will be attending London Vet Show from 20-21 November at ExCeL London. Our team will be meeting delegates at Stand L01.

Chairperson Rita Dingwall and other members of the FIVP team will be available to discuss the unique value of independent practice to the sector. We will also be dissecting the latest report from the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), exploring what it could mean for our members and how we are supporting their interests.

FIVP was founded in 2016 to represent the interests and promote the values of independent business. Amidst a growing number of corporate-owned practices, as well as unforeseen challenges in the veterinary industry, we provide a networking community to secure a prosperous future for independent practices.

We are also closely involved with the ongoing CMA investigation into the veterinary industry. As a main party in the discussions, we have attended a number of panel sessions with the Inquiry Group and submitted responses to their reports to provide a voice for independent practice.

Rita said: “With the CMA investigation ongoing and talks of a new Veterinary Surgeons Act on the horizon, it is important now more than ever that independent practices are represented at events like this.

“We hope to gain new perspectives from those working in independent practice and also hear from those who could support our cause.”

In our day-to-day work, we offer tailored advice to businesses to ensure they not only survive, but thrive in a competitive veterinary industry. With over 50 years of combined experience in practice management, Rita and Business Development Manager Ian Wolstenholme offer their expertise to independent practice managers.

Through our regular presence at industry events, including university careers fairs across the country, we are able to link talented veterinary professionals to our member practices.

We also host a bi-weekly podcast: FIVP Practice Matters. Every other Tuesday, Ian speaks with industry experts to explore the hot topics, useful tips and innovative ideas shaping the veterinary world.

The podcast, which is available on Spotify and Apple Podcasts, has already included industry leaders including BVA’s Dr Anna Judson, entrepreneur Dr Katie Ford and writer Neil Forbes.

Whether you have your own practice, are interested in working for independent practice or have a service you think could benefit our members, we want to hear from you!
