Change the narrative – join BVA’s #InSafeHands campaign

FIVP is encouraging its members to showcase their invaluable contributions to animal welfare, by taking part in BVA’s #InSafeHands campaign.

Amidst ongoing pressure from the CMA inquiry, and a controversial Panorama documentary this month, the veterinary profession has been unfavourably represented in the national press. Most debates have focused on the financial side of veterinary care, unfairly criticising the motivations and priorities of frontline veterinary teams.

FIVP, however, believes that everyone in independent practice is driven by a passion for animal welfare, and a dedication to high quality veterinary care.

The #InSafeHands campaign aims to highlight real-life stories and experiences of those working in veterinary practice. Using the hashtag, the organisation will spotlight practices as they protect animal welfare, support farmers and provide compassionate care for pets in need.

BVA has published a selection of digital resources and ideas on its website, including a short film designed to highlight the breadth of work delivered by the UK’s veterinary community. It has also shared some useful tips to support veterinary practices with using social media, websites and press coverage to spread their news.
